Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a congratulatory speech to the young people and soldier-builders engaged in the construction of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm.

The full text of his speech is as follows:

Comrades, young people and officers and soldiers,

I have come here just after the national celebration to share the beginning of 2026 with you, who are greeting the new year while working at the northwestern tip of the country.

I have many things to do, but I have come here with the thought that I have to make a warm congratulatory and rallying speech to you, who are greeting the new year, working hard here far away from your families and dear homes.

Comrades,

I warmly congratulate you on greeting the new year 2026.

You deserve congratulations extended by the whole country.

You have really done a great thing.

I offer thanks to you for your efforts, with which you are erecting a monumental edifice of the times on a northwestern border of the country with your youthful strength and vigour; and greeting the new year, I convey to you salutation in the name of the Central Committee of our Party, the government of our Republic and all our people.

I really feel pleased and encouraged to see the ranks of our young people, who all look sturdier and more stalwart in the new year.

You look more dignified and manly than the columns standing in array for a military parade.

I really feel proud of you, who have turned out for this grand construction project, to which the Party and the state attach importance, and completely transformed this island, which was afflicted by a disaster, into an ideal country town in the new era within 500-odd days. I want to make a boast of you before the world.

With your spectacular feats, you have added brilliance to your glorious fame and etched the appearance of the Korean youth in the most stirring decade of our era.

I feel the real value of and always thankful for waging the revolution together with the ranks of the hot-blooded youth who are faithful and courageous all the time in supporting and implementing the plans and determination of our Party, together with the powerful artists of creation who are writing a new chapter of history of transformation through an unyielding pioneering struggle for the future.

I have made frequent visits to the construction site of this farm and today, at the outset of the new year, I have come here again not only because what you have done is enormous and important.

But it is because, with the gigantic construction struggle to transform this part of the country progressing further, I have felt it more valuable and laudable than anything else that our young people and soldier-builders are growing beyond recognition day after day.

You may also feel surprised at, and proud of, yourselves.

You are living your days of precious youth in the period of unprecedented transformation in our state’s development history. In these days you have chosen it to be worthwhile in your youth to experience hardship and training instead of enjoyment and comfort, and have cultivated a passionate spirit and strong will to learn how to overcome difficulties, how to make innovations and how to love your country. The days constitute the most valuable wealth in your life that cannot be bartered for a mountain of gold.

Witnessing the soaring spirit of our young people and seeing every creation associated with the passion and sincerity of our young generation, our people are picturing in their mind their motherland that will prosper forever; and seeing your vigorous growth, they are assured that our style of socialism is being succeeded.

For our Party responsible for the future of the country, this is a source of great happiness and satisfaction, and it is quite natural for me to call on you, our young patriots, first in the new year, to congratulate and encourage you.

Before long, the large-scale greenhouse farm permeated with your sweat and efforts will greet the moment when it will be dedicated as a token of loyalty to the glorious congress of the motherly Party.

And you will leave again for the theatres of gigantic creation at the call of the Party and country.

But the imprints you have left and the exploits you have performed will live long on this miraculous island, which encapsulates the level of development of your motherland that prospers day after day, and your proud creation and growth will be recorded in your autobiographies and the annals of history of the youth movement of our country.

I have no doubt that all the young vanguard and soldier-builders will further raise your indomitable spirit to present this greenhouse farm to the times as a model structure in the era of comprehensive rejuvenation of the state.

On the inauguration day, let us all pose without fail for a photo as souvenir in this place of transformation.

I am convinced that the hope-filled new year 2026 you opened with the priceless successes associated with your intense devotion will also become more glorious and livelier thanks to your burning passion, tremendous courage and wonderful creations.

On the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture, where you made your imposing departure, the Ninth Congress of the Party will greet our laudable young people.

Young vanguard and soldier-builders, who are brave pioneers of a new era,

Two days ago, Pyongyang raised a cheer in chorus for our state.

With a youthful vigour, let us also raise a cheer louder than that in Pyongyang in reflection of our infinite respect and affection for our mother Korea so that it can reverberate in Pyongyang and all other parts of the country and through the earth.

Long live the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, our glorious motherland that will prosper forever!
