The youth problem is one of the most serious problems on the globe, but none of the states and ruling parties offered a correct solution to it. On the contrary, they are clamouring that it is impossible to solve the youth problem even with tremendous wealth or high level of science and technology.

The Korean young people, however, become vanguard in adding lustre to the dignity and fame of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea while displaying their wisdom and valour at the grand construction sites prioritized by the Party and the state.

Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station

As its name tells, the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station was built by our young people.

Its construction was a difficult and huge project which had to be carried out under the most unfavourable physiographical conditions in the Korean history of building hydropower stations. So it was not finished for ten years.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the power station in April 2015 and called for finishing the project till October 10 marking the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. And he took all necessary measures.

Encouraged by it, the young builders carried out the amount of work equal to what they had done in the previous ten years within over 120 days and built the dam of Unit 1 of the power station, and finally completed Units 1 and 2 of the power station.

Afterwards, they continued the project even in the biting cold of 30 degrees Celsius below zero, breaking the established formula that hydropower station cannot be built in winter, completing Unit 3 of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station in less than half a year.

Through the construction of the power station, they displayed all over the world once again the indomitable spirit and inexhaustible strength of the Korean young people who go through fire and water in response to the Party's call.

The Monument to Feats of Heroic Youth was built at the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station to tell the merits of the young people forever.

As you can see in the photo below, the medal of Hero of the DPRK was embossed on the pedestal of the monument.

Jonwi Street

This is Jonwi Street in the Sopho area in the capital city of Pyongyang. It was inaugurated in May 2024.

Spectacular are the high-rise and super-high-rise apartment houses of various styles including an iconic 80-storey apartment building and public buildings along the broad avenue.

Jonwi Street was built by young people according to the decision of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

More than 100,000 young people volunteered for the capital city construction and a groundbreaking ceremony was held in the presence of Kim Jong Un in February 2023.

Building the frames of tens of high-rise and super-high-rise apartment houses was a difficult task for the young people, but they launched an emulation drive at the construction site with high enthusiasm to build the magnificent new street as soon as possible.

Through the construction of Jonwi Street, the young people further trained themselves ideologically and morally and in a revolutionary way and registered on their personal accounts of youth the noble words of honourable participants in the new era of prosperity of Pyongyang.

Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm

This is the island area at the northwestern tip of the DPRK, which was afflicted by a disaster due to flood damage in July 2024. It has been transformed into an ideal country town within 500-odd days.

On January 2, Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and congratulated and encouraged the young builders who greeted the new year.

Paek Kum Hui, Member of the High-Speed Youth Shock Brigade Management Bureau, said in excitement:

"We all wept when the fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, whom we had always wanted to see in the hard days of construction, called on us before others and wished us a Happy New Year, kindly saying we had really done a great thing.

He promised to have a photo taken with us in this place of transformation on the day of inauguration."

Kim Jong Un took part in the departure ceremony of young people to be dispatched to the damage rehabilitation campaign areas and made a rallying speech. When the housing construction was finished, he attended the inaugural ceremony and gave thanks to the young people. And he assigned them another task to build a large-scale combined greenhouse farm.

His great trust encouraged the young people to perform miracles and feats, Vice-Chairman Paek Un Chol at the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League said and continued:

"The feats of our young people are unthinkable apart from the love and trust of the fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who entrusted them with the construction of the large-scale combined greenhouse farm and visited the construction site several times to encourage them to perform miracles and feats. Kim Jong Un, however, attributed all the successes to our young people."

Department Head Ri Kwang Hyok said:

"Nobody in the world is happier than our young people living in the embrace of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un."

The Korean young people will dedicate the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm permeated with their sweat and efforts to the Ninth Congress of the WPK as a token of loyalty. With their remarkable feats, they have added brilliance to their glorious fame and etched the appearance of the Korean youth in the most stirring decade of our era.

The feats of the Korean young people will be told forever along with the grand monuments to youth built in this country.
