Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) — The regional development policy-oriented construction for 2026 began with due ceremonies in the area of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and Kangnam and Maengsan counties of the DPRK on February 3.

The construction is aimed at building a highly civilized and prosperous nation more quickly and more dynamically with substantial and qualitative changes of the regions.

Present at the ceremonies were Ri Hi Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Han Kwang Sang, department director of the Party Central Committee, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the WPK, officials and working people in the relevant province, municipality and counties and service personnel of the People’s Army.

Speeches were made at the groundbreaking ceremonies.

The speakers said that not only modern factories but also advanced health facilities and multi-functional leisure complexes, whose modeling phase has successfully ended, are to be built in a simultaneous way in 20 areas in 2026, the significant year that will see a new phase of the overall development of socialism.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the orientation and ways for implementing the expanded policy for regional development vigorously without letup and took revolutionary measures for them. Thanks to his meticulous guidance a sure guarantee has been secured to successfully promote the construction projects.

The self-sustenance and confidence in the future, redoubled in the last year’s struggle, serve as incomparable spiritual wealth in paving a broad avenue toward comprehensive national rejuvenation.

All the officers and men of the People’s Army and officials and working people in the relevant areas should continue to strive in the vanguard of the great revolutionary drive for regional efflorescence.

Saying that the implementation of the regional development policy in the new era is being steadily accelerated thanks to the devotion and painstaking efforts of the great Party Central Committee, the speakers ardently called for achieving only proud victory in this year’s grand advance with ardent patriotism.

Then the commanders of the 124th Regiments of the Korean People’s Army made speeches.

The soldier-builders, alongside construction machinery, began the construction with high morale and enthusiasm to fulfill their honourable duty as pioneers of transformation for the country and the people.
