Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- All the people in the DPRK significantly greet the 78th founding anniversary of the heroic Korean People's Army which is performing immortal feats in the struggle for national defence and socialist construction, regarding the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea as its lifeblood.

With the approach of the birth anniversary of the revolutionary armed forces, the service personnel and all the people are recollecting the days of the undying leadership of the illustrious commander who has visited drill grounds clouded with powder smoke to train the KPA into a matchless strong army with indomitable fighting spirit and capability for an actual war.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the line and tasks for making the KPA elite revolutionary armed forces and building a strong army at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. He ushered in a great heyday of bolstering up the revolutionary armed forces while personally organizing and guiding drills for actual war and training contests.

At the first and second enlarged meetings of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the WPK held in February and June 2021, he clarified the strategic tasks and ways for the KPA to hold fast to, including thoroughly establishing the command system of the Party Central Committee across the entire army and further increasing its combat efficiency in conformity with the rapidly changing situation and the requirements of internal and external circumstances of the Korean revolution.

With the first workshop of commanding and political officers of the KPA, which set forth the important task for intensifying training under the five-point policy for effecting a revolution in training, as a momentum, a radical turn was brought about in bolstering up the efficiency of the KPA.

Kim Jong Un made sure that military drills of different levels for real war were organized and wisely led the nuclear combat forces of the DPRK to maintain the strongest nuclear counteraction posture for defending the dignity and sovereignty of the country.

He ensured that the training of arms was conducted in an atmosphere of an actual war in order to remarkably increase the combat capabilities of the service personnel.

The training bases of the special operation units which have grown stronger to be the pivotal force of the armed forces of the DPRK absolutely and firmly defending the sovereignty of the country and the happiness of its people are associated with the sacred leadership of the heaven-sent great man.

The might of the KPA, which has grown into the elite revolutionary army under the idea of building a strong army, energetic leadership, great love and trust of the illustrious commander, is being further consolidated as the powerful strength capable of resolutely smashing any aggression and provocation by the hostile forces. -0-
