Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The 27th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on Feb. 7.
Attending the meeting were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK.
Present there as observers were vice directors of major departments of the C.C., WPK who are members of the relevant panels of the preparatory committee for the congress.
Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, guided the meeting.
Upon authorization of Kim Jong Un , Jo Yong Won, Presidium member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, presided over the meeting.
The Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee decided on the following agenda items:
First, "On the deliberation of qualifications of the delegates to the Ninth Congress of the WPK"
Second, "On the deliberation of composition of the presidium, platform and secretariat for the Ninth Congress of the WPK"
Third, "On the deliberation of schedule of the Ninth Congress of the WPK"
Fourth, "On the deliberation of documents to be submitted to the Ninth Congress of the WPK"
On the basis of hearing reports on the agenda items and discussing them, the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee approved relevant decisions.
Kim Jong Un made an affirmative appreciation of the fact that the relevant panels of the congress preparatory committee have effectively pushed ahead with the preparations for the congress in every way, and clarified the principled issues and detailed tasks for the successful holding of the congress.
The Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee adopted with unanimous approval a decision on opening the Ninth Congress of the WPK in Pyongyang, the capital of the revolution, in late February 2026. -0-
