Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) — The newly-built Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm in the DPRK harvested vegetables for the first time this year.
With high pride of living and working in an ideal farm town with a record group of large greenhouses which made another leap forward in modernity, advanced nature and profitability as well as architectural level, its officials and employees cultivated healthy vegetable sprouts while ensuring the control of temperature and humidity and the nutrient care as required by technical regulations according to the growing conditions of vegetable crops.
The farm transplanted the vegetable sprouts to greenhouses and cultivated them in a scientific and technological way while steadily raising the level of employees’ technical knowledge and skills in contact with technicians and researchers of relevant units.
The joyful faces of employees harvesting such various kinds of vegetables as tomato, pepper, cucumber and cabbage at different types of greenhouses have presented another spectacular scene of the “Treasure Island”.
The Sinuiju Vegetable Science Research Center, too, has produced different kinds of fruit and leaf vegetables.
Trucks carrying vegetables arrived at commercial service units, orphanage and primary and middle schools for orphans in the city of Sinuiju.
Laughter of orphans seeing fresh vegetables including red tomatoes resounded through the schools.
Service amenities in the city were crowded with inhabitants buying fresh vegetables.
The citizens expressed their impressions with delight that they could taste various kinds of vegetable dishes although the farm was inaugurated not long ago.
Officials and employees in the service sector of the city are giving sincere service to the inhabitants with pleasure.
