Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Successes have been made in realizing the comprehensive mechanization of agriculture in the DPRK, according to Rodong Sinmun.
Since the programme for the rural revolution in the new era was unveiled, many farm machine production units across the country have been remodeled to expand their capacities, and home-made farm machines supplied to the rural areas every year to increase the proportion of mechanized farm work.
The first- and second-stage modernization projects of the Kumsong Tractor Factory were completed to lay a firm foundation for ensuring smooth production and quality of products. At present, the factory sees serial production of high-hp tractors and sends them to farms across the country, thus making a great contribution to realizing the comprehensive mechanization of agriculture.
The Namsi Livestock Machine Factory, the Kangso Sprayer Factory, the Sariwon Tractor Parts Factory and other units in the field of farm machinery were updated one after another and their material and technical foundations strengthened.
In 2023, 11 600 farm machines were produced and supplied to rural areas across the country and in 2024, their kinds increased.
South Hwanghae and North Phyongan provinces secured many farm machines. In Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province the proportion of mechanized farm work reached more than 50 percent. In 2025, the proportion of mechanized farm work increased as against that in the previous year to contribute to boosting the grain production.
Trade union organizations sent tractors dubbed "Jikmaeng" (trade union) to tideland farms in South Hwanghae Province in 2024. And last year they handed over high-performance farm machines to the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Organizations of the Union of Agricultural Workers sent "Nonggunmaeng" tractors and cultivators to the Ogye Farm in Anbyon County of Kangwon Province and "Nonggunmaeng" small tractors to farms in Jangphung County of Kaesong Municipality.
Farm machine stations in each city and county manufactured various kinds of farm machines, convenient to use and simple in structure, as well as parts and accessories to contribute to raising the proportion of mechanized farm work. -0-
