Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article says that the substantial and simultaneous development of regions is a striking demonstration of the absolute truth and innovative might of the regional development policy in the new era which comprehensively reflects the original state-building strategy of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The regional development policy in the new era is a great revolutionary programme that can be clarified only by the WPK committed to the struggle to reduce the gap between the capital city and local areas in life, overcome the imbalance between regions and build an invincible socialist power, the article says, and goes on:
This policy reflects our Party's state-building plan to consolidate the foundations and potentials of regions in every way and radically improve the basic material and cultural life of regional people so as to achieve the comprehensive prosperity and growth of the state.
It is our Party's state-building strategy to strengthen the regions and consolidate their foundations and achieve more successes on this basis.
The essence of the regional development policy in the new era is to make all citizens in the country equally enjoy an affluent and civilized life under the socialist policy of the state, whether they live in the capital city or regions, towns or mountain villages.
This policy comprehensively embodies our Party's strategy to accelerate the overall development of socialism by firmly preparing the local people mentally and culturally.
