Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) — A national book and art exhibition opened in the DPRK to celebrate the forthcoming Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea amid the daily growing political enthusiasm of the Party members and all other people of the country for greeting the Congress significantly and grandly.

An opening ceremony took place at the Korean Art Gallery on February 11.

Present there were Ju Chang Il, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials, journalists and artists of ministries, national agencies and publishing and fine art sectors and working people in Pyongyang.

Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, made an opening address.

He said that the exhibition is a significant political and cultural festival conveying long the greatness of the peerlessly great men and the immortal revolutionary exploits performed by them for the Party, the revolution, the country and the people, and showing the history of heroic struggle of the DPRK people who have won victories under the wise leadership of the Party Central Committee.

He declared the opening of the exhibition, saying that it would be an occasion of significance in demonstrating the dignity and invincible leadership of the great Party and redoubling the political awareness and revolutionary enthusiasm of the Party members and all other people of the country to advance toward the goal for a new victory to be set forth by the Ninth Party Congress.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the exhibition hall.

On display at the venue are more than 10 000 kinds of books, including books dealing with the glorious revolutionary history and immortal exploits of the Party, which is ushering in a new era of building a revolutionary party of Juche type and powerfully guiding the great cause of building a rich country with a strong army, books on literature and art and books on science and technology.

Some books are about the ideology and wise leadership of the great Party Central Committee which is resolutely ushering in a new era of comprehensive rejuvenation through simultaneous and qualitative changes and development of the capital city and local areas and of towns and countryside, and about the noble political idea, view of development and steadfast service spirit of the WPK which regards the people’s laughter and happiness as a symbol of the socialist system and a standard of national power assessment. Such books add to the significance of the exhibition.

Also on show are art pieces reflecting the miraculous successes achieved in socialist construction during the term of the Eighth Party Central Committee and the new life of civilization greeted and enjoyed by the people.

An oil painting “Implanting ideal and spirit of Party founding” and a Korean painting “Absolute force for defending peace” and other art works show the undying exploits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who ushered in a new heyday of strengthening the whole Party with his outstanding ideas and gigantic leadership practice and has consolidated the absolute strength for eternal prosperity of the DPRK and the dignity and happiness of its people.

Enjoying art works vividly depicting the appearance of the DPRK changing rapidly along with the new era of the comprehensive development ushered in by the Party and the people’s happiness, the participants had the confidence that the Party and the socialist system of Korean style are the best in the world and hardened their will to realize all dreams and ideals.

Sci-tech books, sculptures, craftworks and calligraphic works, too, deeply moved the participants as they help working people, youth and students enrich their cultural attainments.
