It is a steady principle of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea that regions may be different in geographical environment, resources, economic potentiality and living environment, but no regions in the territory of the Republic must be backward in the people's living.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to the Daesong Department Store just before its opening deep at night when people were fast asleep after spending Sunday on April 7, 2019.
He visited the department store after giving field guidance to the city of Samjiyon and the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area and the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort under construction in less than a week in April.
Regardless of his painstaking efforts, however, he looked round the department store for a long time.
That day, he expressed satisfaction time and again, saying: The Daesong Department Store has been built well. It is a completely modern one. It is perfect and smart.
Looking round different places of the department store, he appreciated that the goods-displaying method and style are diverse and nice-looking and the service environment and scale and the quality and variety of goods are all on a high level.
He also said service bases like the Daesong Department Store should be built in the provinces as well and continued: Such wonderful department store has been built in the city of Pyongyang, but there is no similar one in the regions. There should be no difference in the living standard between the Pyongyang citizens and the people in regions.
Indeed, there may be geographically far and near places, but there cannot be people far-off and nearby in the heart of Kim Jong Un who is making efforts to provide the people across the country with civilized living conditions as early as possible.
