Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on February 27 met the officers and soldiers of the units and departments at all levels of the Korean People's Army who fully demonstrated the absolute support of the armed forces and all the people of the DPRK for the WPK's fighting programme and their confidence in sure victory through their vigorous stride in the military parade in commemoration of the Ninth Party Congress.

The square was filled with great joy and deep emotion of the participants in the military parade who exercised the greatest privilege of making a vigorous stride of the revolutionary army of the WPK on the track of glory opened by the historic Party Congress and then came to get the immense love and encouragement from the great brilliant commander.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un arrived, stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" resounded far and wide.

He was greeted respectfully by senior officials of the Ministry of National Defence and the commander of the parade units.

All the participants extended highest glory to the great brilliant commander who further exalted the honour and reputation of the Korean People's Army by arranging a grand military parade at an important time when a watershed in the history of the WPK and the new start of another stage converged.

Warmly acknowledging the enthusiastic cheers, Kim Jong Un paid tribute to the officers and soldiers of the parade units who demonstrated their absolute loyalty to the orders and instructions of the Party and the heroic fighting spirit as the representatives and symbols of the elite army of KPA and further convinced every Korean of the victory in their cause that will be accelerated by the vanguard and core role of the revolutionary armed forces.

He said that the outstanding role and valuable feats the KPA played and performed, which no one else could do in its place, in the crucial courses, in which the destiny of the national sovereignty and the revolution was determined by each step, served as a powerful driving force that pushed the Korean revolution straight in the same direction as indicated by the Party. It is a source of the strongest power and great pride of our Party to have such invincible armed forces, the elite ranks of patriotic loyalty that share with it destiny, intention, will, ideals and aspirations, he added.

He met the officers and soldiers who participated in the military parade commemorating the Party Congress after performing the brilliant military feats of demonstrating to the world the honour of the country in the overseas military operations. He asked about the state of recovery of the wounded soldiers, warmly encouraging them to continue their dynamic march of patriotic loyalty for the Party, the revolution, the country and the people in the future, too.

Today, our army is entrusted with the historic mission and responsibility, more important and heavier than ever before, he said, adding that it should continue to reliably play the leading role in the present great era by displaying its great heroism, strong mettle and indomitable fighting spirit in all theatres of gigantic struggle indicated by the Ninth Party Congress.

He expressed expectations and belief that the new dynamic march the KPA bravely began with the military parade at the square of victory would be replete with proud feats and fame.

At the end of the photo session, all the participants, who received his great trust and warm encouragement, broke into stormy cheers, chanting slogans of "Kim Jong Un" and "Death-defying defence".

The participants in the military parade were full of militant enthusiasm to wage a dynamic struggle for achieving a new great victory, further demonstrating the dignity and honour as the guardians of the most righteous cause, state and people under the leadership of the Party Central Committee.
