Experience-presenting meeting and symposium on paddy-field fish breeding techniques took place at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences through video conferencing on the 12th under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Association of Agricultural Techniques and the Korean Fishery Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The presentation and symposium held on the theme of "Increase of Paddy Rice and Fish Production" was aimed at widely disseminating and generalizing the successes and experiences gained in the course of establishing green cultivation and combined fish breeding production system of Korean style and finding out more realistic and rational sci-tech ways.
Present there were scientists, technicians and field officials from more than 2,000 units including the Rice Research Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Bioengineering Branch of the State Academy of Sciences and the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County.
Submitted to the presentation were tens of valuable papers dealing with the high-yielding cultivation of paddy rice through catfish farming in paddy fields and the establishment of a method for raising the effectiveness of catfish farming in paddy fields.
The symposium discussed the ways to boost the productivity of tilapia and carp by bionic methods in the paddy-field fish farming, select strains of paddy rice suited for paddy-field fish farming and establish the cultivation technology.
That day, there was a technical lecture on the green cultivation and fish breeding methods.
