Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- More than 12 000 units across the country have won the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest for over ten years amid a mass campaign to turn all the mountains of the country into gold and treasure ones with thick woods.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection in November 2014 and stressed the need to conduct such dynamic mass movements as a movement for winning the titles of Socialist Patriotic Forest and Model County in Afforestation.
In January 2019, the Ponghwa Chemical Factory and other units won the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest for the first time and its ranks have increased every year.
The Sunan Ostrich Farm under the Pyongyang Poultry Production Bureau has produced a large number of saplings at its nursery every year and created forests in keeping with the climatic and soil conditions and symbiosis among trees.
The title of Socialist Patriotic Forest was conferred on the Naejung Farm in Yomju County, the Ryonji Farm in Hamju County, the township farm in Yonthan County and many other agricultural production units as they have created and conserved forests and planted many trees of good species and tended them carefully.
Women's union committees of Mangyongdae District, Unsan County and Phyongsong City have planted trees in a scientific and technological way in conformity with the characteristics of different species and soil conditions.
Phungyang Senior Middle School in Kim Jong Suk County and Hoean Senior Middle School in Pukchang County planted and cultivated trees of economic value. -0-
