Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on March 22.
The message said:
I extend warm congratulations and comradely greetings to you and, through you, to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and all the Party members on the occasion of the 71st founding anniversary of the LPRP.
The founding of the LPRP, a historic event of important significance in carving out the destiny of the Lao people, provided a turning point in the struggle to put an end to the colonial rule of foreign forces and establish a people’s democratic system.
I hope that the Lao people will make a fresh step forward in attaining the goal of building a state towards socialism by thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Twelfth Congress of the LPRP under the leadership of the Party headed by you.
Expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between our two parties and two countries will grow stronger in conformity with the spirit of the agreement reached at our meeting in Pyongyang in October last year, I wish you good health and bigger success in your responsible work.
