Kim Hye Yong, a doctor at Chungsong Polyclinic in Rangnang District, is well known for her skilful application of Koryo therapies.
She specialized in clinical medicine but she later became a Koryo therapist for some reason.
Working as a doctor in charge of households at the polyclinic, she was diagnosed at the age of 28 as having an incurable illness.
After receiving treatment by modern medicine, she decided to try to treat her disease by Koryo therapy.
With the help of her family, she regularly applied to herself various Koryo therapies—moxibustion and cupping—and took decoctions of medicinal herbs.
One month after the start of the treatment, swelling of the body began to decline, and in three years she was completely restored to normal health.
After experiencing the mysterious power of traditional Koryo medicine which saved her from the jaws of death, she turned into a Koryo therapist and buckled down to the study of the traditional medicine.
She exerted herself to find out and perfect different original methods by combining moxibustion, acupuncture and decoctions according to physical constitutions. By applying these methods she has cured many patients with obstinate diseases for over 20 years.
She also developed a tonic jam, a patent-winning natural health food, with a special therapeutic effect by boosting the immunity of the human body. Later, she wrote books “Take Care of Blood Vessels for Comfortable Life” and “Key to Health” to contribute to promoting the people’s health.
