Farms in Songnim City and Pongsan County have introduced irrigation methods appropriate to the actual conditions of the wheat and barley fields vulnerable to drought damage.
Yonthan and Kumchon counties are concentrating tractors, cultivators and water-carrying vehicles and manpower on the farms to intensively conduct watering.
Agricultural workers in Hwangju and Sangwon counties are intensifying the monitoring of harmful insects and applying various kinds of nutrients to enhance the crops’ resistance to drought.
Sungho and Junghwa counties are taking timely measures to prevent drought damage.
