Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung devoted himself to the people even on his birthdays to be blessed by all people. Recorded in the history of his revolutionary activities are lots of unforgettable stories about his thinking and devotion for the people.
On the early morning of the first birthday after the liberation of Korea, the President met the director of Pyongyang Institute (then) to discuss the plan for his field guidance to be conducted from the next day. And he visited the Hungnam area to arouse its workers to the building of a new country.
The following year, he refused to receive a birthday spread, saying that the children in the country had not yet been provided with enough candy.
On April 15, 1953 when the country was in the grim period of the Fatherland Liberation War, he put into a pond the fishes a supply service official of the Supreme Headquarters brought from a fish farm for him and studied their ecology.
On the first birthday after the war, he visited an agricultural cooperative (then) in Junghwa County and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for farming well, walking along the dewy field.
On April 15, 1971, too, he made a great effort to improve the living standards of the people and then spent his 65th birthday at a coalmine, refusing the repeated requests of officials.
On April 15, 1988, he spent the day looking after the overall state affairs, including the repair of equipment at the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, the full operation of kilns at the Sunchon Cement Complex, the iron production and railway freight transportation, and the provision of working and living conditions for scientists.
On the April holiday in 1993, he visited Ri In Mo on his sickbed and showed warm affection for him and had a photo taken with him.
As seen above, the sacred revolutionary career of the President was the precious life of the great revolutionary and the people's leader as he continued his ceaseless journey of love and devotion for the country and the people even on his birthdays. -0-
