The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received a reply message from the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

I take it happy and moving to receive your message of warm congratulations and friendly feelings on my election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at a session of the 16th National Assembly.
My election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is an honour to me and, at the same time, great responsibility entrusted by the party, state and people of Vietnam with trust in me.
I pay deep respects to Comrade General Secretary and President of the State Affairs for your invariable warm feelings and close cooperation with the state and top leaders of Vietnam.
At my new post, I will continue to closely cooperate with you and high-ranking officials of the DPRK in order to keep developing the traditional relations of friendship between the two parties, two states and two peoples of Vietnam and the DPRK more firmly and effectively and bring substantial benefits to the prosperity of each country and the peoples of our two countries.
I wish you good health, happiness and many successes in discharging your noble duty.
