Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) — This year, large numbers of senior middle school graduates in the DPRK determined to wear the military uniform of the revolution or volunteered for the forefront border posts.
The North Hwanghae Provincial Youth League Committee let the graduates enjoy art performances given by members of the schoolchildren’s art squad and their mothers, and educated them about patriotism. As a result, more than 1 000 students of over 50 classes volunteered for the frontline border posts.
The district and county youth league committees in Pyongyang conducted various activities including study tours of revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites and contests of singing wartime songs in chorus while marching to make students realize that youth devoted to national defence is the most valuable and worthwhile one. And thus more than 500 graduates of 20-odd classes vowed to take the lead in defending the country.
Graduates of many senior middle schools in North Phyongan Province and Nampho Municipality also expressed their ardent desire to join the army in order to repay the love and benevolence they received from the country.
Graduates of Hadan Senior Middle Schools Nos. 1 and 2 in Sinuiju City volunteered for the army.
Students of the Wolmae Senior Middle School in Taean District at their meeting for volunteering for the army expressed their will to stand at the posts for defending the national sovereignty and the people.
Graduates of various senior middle schools in Ichon County, Kangwon Province, and those of Sinho Technology Senior Middle School in Sinpho City, South Hamgyong Province, joined the honorable ranks hoping to enter the army.
Among the volunteers are graduates of Kaesong Secondary School No. 1, Sonjuk Senior Middle School and Koryo Senior Middle School in Kaesong Municipality and those of senior middle schools in Sunchon City of South Phyongan Province, Kosong County of Kangwon Province, Sinhung County of South Hamgyong Province, Kyonghung County of North Hamgyong Province and Kangso District of Nampho Municipality.
