Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) — Events were held by the General Association of Koreans in China to commemorate the 114th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
Members of the General Association of Koreans in China, its affiliated organizations, other Koreans’ organizations in China and other compatriots laid flower baskets and made a bow before the statue of the President at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin, China on April 15.
A meeting of the General Association of Koreans in China took place at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin to commemorate the 114th birth anniversary of the President.
Present there were Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the General Association of Koreans in China, its vice-chairman and other officials of the general association, representatives of its affiliated organizations, officials of the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang and citizens of the DPRK working in three northeastern provinces of China.
Also present there were officials of the Jilin Provincial People’s Government of China and the Jilin City People’s Government and the party secretary of Yuwen Middle School in Jilin.
Chairwoman Choe Un Bok in her report paid high tribute to President Kim Il Sung and extended the greatest glory and warmest thanks to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, reflecting the unanimous mind of the officials of the general association and all other Koreans in China.
April 15, 1912, when the President was born, was the day of great fortune for the country and the people who were suffering under the Japanese imperialists’ colonial rule, she said, adding that there is no such an outstanding leader and great revolutionary as the President who embarked upon the road of revolution in his teens and glorified the 20th century as the century of the cause of independence against imperialism and the victory of the socialist cause, enjoying absolute support and trust of the popular masses for his outstanding idea, leadership and noble virtues till the last moments of his noble life.
Then followed a performance and a reception.
A meeting for adopting a congratulatory letter to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un took place at the meeting hall of the general association on April 12.
Meanwhile, colorful celebrations were held by the Zhongnan Regional Association of the general association, the Dandong City Branch of its Liaoning Regional Association and other affiliated organizations.
