Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- Industrial production in the DPRK has increased by 107 percent as compared with the same period of last year, amid the mass innovation movement for carrying out the first-year tasks of the new Five-Year Plan launched in all the economic sectors and units.

At the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified the fighting strategy in keeping with the strong spirit of advance and full confidence of our state and people and specified in detail the long-term goals for each sector to attain during the new Five-Year Plan and the tasks for their realization.

The workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex increased production by 107 percent on a daily average in March and carried out the high cement production plan in April, too.

The Sunchon Cement Complex produced 15 000 more tons of cement for two months and the Chonnaeri Cement Factory has over-fulfilled its daily quota.

The Taean Friendship Glass Factory carried out the production of sheet glass at 107 percent on a daily average by putting the supply of raw materials and operation of equipment on a scientific basis, ensuring the melting temperature and normalizing the operation of tin furnace and slow-cold furnace.

The Chonsong Youth Coal Mine under the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex turned out thousands of more tons of coal than the same period of last year after the Party Congress.

The Phunggok Youth Coal Mine of the Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex completed its April coal production plan ahead of schedule, recording 141 percent on a daily average.

Workers in the metallurgical industry carried out their April national plan for rolled steel production at 109 percent.

Pyongyang, East Pyongyang, Sunchon and Chongchongang thermal power plants have maintained the stable production through work to intensify the checkup of equipment and ensure the pulverization degree and evenness of coal.

The workers at hydro-power stations across the country increased the electricity production with a scientific water management method.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex fulfilled its production plan for electric motors and transformers while ensuring the accuracy of processing products as required by the technical requirements. It also hastened the modernization of production processes

Workers in the mining industry have made innovations in the production of minerals and nonferrous metals, with the main stress putting on the work to strengthen the material and technical foundations.

The officials and workers in the forestry sector over-fulfilled their national timber production plans for March and April at 106 percent and 102 percent respectively.

Those in the railway transport sector ensured in a responsible manner the transport of necessary freights to socialist construction theaters seething with the efforts to implement the Party's decisions.

The textile industrial sector fulfilled its April cloth production plan on all indices through a multi-machine and multi-spindle movement.

The Ryuwon Footwear Factory, the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory, the Pyongyang Hosiery Factory, the Songyo Knitwear Factory, the Hamhung Knitwear Factory and the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory made progress in the production of goods favored by the people.
