A spokesman for the Chinese Defense Ministry criticized the militarist moves of Japan at a press conference on May 28.
He asserted that the Japanese right-wing forces are given to perpetrating dangerous and reckless moves and acts of provocation in the military security field, emerging as a force inviting disaster to East Asia.
The Japanese authorities have sharply increased military expenditure, developed and deployed offensive weapons and eased restriction on the export of weapons of mass destruction, and are advocating for making theirs a “country capable of fighting a war” and even clamouring for abandoning the “three non-nuclear principles”.
If such things mean “exclusive defense”, there cannot be the word “attack” in dictionary, he said, calling on the international community to make joint efforts to check Japan’s “neo-militarism” and defend regional and global peace and stability with a full understanding of its “deceptive diplomacy” and “disguise as victim”.
