Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Ri Yong Ho, who is leading a DPRK government delegation on a visit to Syria, had a talk with Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, at the presidential palace on Tuesday.
The Syrian president said that the favorable situation recently created on the Korean peninsula is entirely thanks to HE Kim Jong Un's wise politics, principled stand and flexible foreign policy.
Expressing gratitude to Kim Jong Un for invariably supporting the cause of the Syrian people, he affirmed that Syria would also always support the just cause of the Korean people.
Ri paid a courtesy call on Imad Khamis, prime minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, and had talks with Walid Al-Muallem, deputy prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, on Tuesday.
During the courtesy call and talks both sides referred to the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations getting stronger under the deep care of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and Bashar Al-Assad, president of Syria.
They also had an exchange of views and reached a consensus on the issues of developing the bilateral relations in various fields including economy, science and technology and culture, as required by the new century and the changed international situation, and on other issues of mutual concern.
