Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The Fourth Session of the 13th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK took place here on June 29.
Supreme leader Kim Jong Un was present at the session.
It was attended by the deputies to the SPA.
Officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, and those in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, public health and media participated in it as observers.
The session decided on its agenda items.
On revising and supplementing the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK
On electing the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the top post of the DPRK
On forming the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK
On thoroughly carrying out the five-year strategy for national economic development set forth by the WPK
On setting up the DPRK Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country
Organizational matter
Deputy Yang Hyong Sop in his report on the first agenda item said that the preface and the part of state machinery of the Socialist Constitution were revised and supplemented in the main while preserving its structural system, main contents and revolutionary principle.
In its relevant articles the expression "first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK" was replaced by "chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK", "National Defence Commission" by "State Affairs Commission", "Supreme Public Prosecutors Office" by "Central Public Prosecutors Office", "Supreme Court" by "Central Court" and some other expressions were modified.
An ordinance of the SPA on the first agenda item was adopted.
The second agenda item was discussed.
Deputy Kim Yong Nam made a speech on electing Kim Jong Un as chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.
He said it is the unshakable faith and unswerving will of all service personnel and people of the country to uphold Kim Jong Un, who represents the mightiness of Juche Korea and banner of all its victories and glory, at the top post of the DPRK and bring earlier the final victory of the cause of the Juche revolution and the cause of socialism.
He courteously proposed the SPA to elect Kim Jong Un as chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK reflecting the unanimous will and desire of all deputies to the SPA, service personnel and people.
The proposal received the absolute support and approval of all deputies and participants.
The session solemnly declared that Kim Jong Un was elected chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.
The session discussed its third agenda item.
At the proposal of Kim Jong Un, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and Choe Ryong Hae were elected vice-chairmen of the State Affairs Commission and Kim Ki Nam, Pak Yong Sik, Ri Su Yong, Ri Man Gon, Kim Yong Chol, Kim Won Hong, Choe Pu Il and Ri Yong Ho members of the State Affairs Commission.
The fourth agenda item was discussed.
Deputy Pak Pong Ju made a report on thoroughly carrying out the five-year strategy for national economic development set forth by the WPK.
Then followed speeches.
Speakers expressed their determination to attain the goals of the five-year strategy for national economic development without fail, saying that the strategy serves as a scientific and revolutionary one for bringing about a great surge in building an economic power in line with the law-governed requirements of socialist economic construction and realistic conditions and a blueprint indicating a shortcut to the building of a socialist power.
An ordinance of the SPA "On thoroughly carrying out the five-year strategy for national economic development set forth by the WPK", the fourth agenda item, was adopted.
The decision of the SPA "On setting up the DPRK Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country", the fifth agenda item, was adopted.
According to the decision, the DPRK Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country will be set up and the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea be dissolved.
Organizational matter, the sixth agenda item, was discussed.
At the proposal of the Central Committee of the WPK, deputy Thae Jong Su was recalled from the post of member of the Presidium of the SPA in connection with his transfer to other post and deputies Kim Yong Chol, Pak Thae Song and Ju Yong Gil were elected members of the Presidium of the SPA.
At the proposal of the premier, Ri Ju O and Ri Ryong Nam were appointed as vice-premiers and Ko In Ho as vice-premier and minister of Agriculture.
At the proposal of the WPK Central Committee, deputy Pak Myong Chol was recalled from the posts of president of the Central Court of the DPRK and member of the Legislation Committee of the SPA as regards his transfer to other post and deputy Kang Yun Sok was elected president of the Central Court of the DPRK and member of the Legislation Committee of the SPA. -0-
