Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- Performances were given by the State Merited Chorus and the Mansudae Art Troupe on Saturday, the 66th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Senior officials of the Party and the government including Choe Ryong Hae and Pak Pong Ju and officials of the armed forces organs and Pyongyangites enjoyed the performance.
Among the audience were overseas compatriots and foreigners.
A performance was given by the State Merited Chorus at the People's Theatre.
Put on the stage of the performance which began with prelude "July 27, Our Victory Day" and "Hurrah for July 27, Day of Victory" were such numbers as male solo and male chorus "Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung", trombone duet "Three Years of War" and orchestra "Song of Pride of Guards Units".
The performers sang in high praise of the exploits of President Kim Il Sung for the war victory, who set a world example in the history of struggle against imperialism by leading the Fatherland Liberation War to victory.
"Advance" and "Off We Go, Brindled Ox" and other wartime songs reminded the audience of the feats of those who emerged victorious in the war.
A performance was given by the Mansudae Art Troupe at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre.
Put on the stage were chorus "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung", serial orchestra "Song of National Defence" and other colorful numbers.
Performers in their songs and dances ardently praised the exploits of President Kim Il Sung who defeated the imperialist allied forces and tactics and created the brilliant legendary tales of heroic Korea about the war victory with his outstanding military idea, Juche-oriented war methods and superb strategies.
Put on the stage were immortal classic masterpiece "Song of Best Wishes" and "For My Only Motherland", "Fifteen Minutes on That Day", etc.
Mixed quartet and chorus "Respects to Victors of Great Years" and finale "Holiday of Great War Victory" were appreciated by the audience as they made them brace themselves with the will and spirit to strenuously carry forward the tradition of victory in the on-going campaign for defending socialism under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. -0-
