Personal letter sent by the US President showed

well the special intimacy between the leaders of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the United States

We have received a personal letter sent by Donald Trump, President of the

United States of America to Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State

Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

  I

think it is a good judgment and proper action and deserves high appreciation that the US President has sent the personal letter again at the time like now when there are great difficulties and

challenges in the way of development of the relations between the two

countries to make efforts to keep the good relations with Chairman Kim Jong Un.

  In his letter, President Trump expressed his pleasure at the news that the greetings of congratulations he sent on the occasion of the last birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Un were correctly delivered to him and extended warm greetings wishing good health to his family and our people.

  He also explained his plan to promote the relations between the two countries and expressed his will to cooperate in the field of prevention of virus, saying he was moved at the efforts of the Chairman Kim Jong Un who is exerting himself to protect his people from the serious threat of the infection.

  President Trump said he values the relations with Chairman Kim Jong Un and had a difficulty in informing him of his idea because of recent lack of frequent communications, and looked forward to keeping close contact with him.

  We think such personal letter from President Trump is a good example showing well the special and firm personal intimacy with Chairman Kim Jong Un.

  Chairman Kim Jong Un also reaffirmed the special personal intimacy between himself and President Trump and expressed thanks to him for his warm personal letter.

  Fortunately, the personal relations between the two leaders are not so far as the antagonistic relations between the two countries, but very wonderful.

  But the relations between the DPRK and the United States and their development should not be easily estimated in terms of personal intimacy between the two leaders, and it is not allowed to prospect and expect them according to it.

  Of course, the intimacy works positively as it is the one between the leaders representing the two countries. But it is unknown to what extent the personal intimacy will change and pull the structure of development of the relations between the two countries. And it is not so good to make a hasty conclusion and be optimistic about it.

  If impartiality and balance

are not provided and the unilateral and greedy thought is not discontinued, the

relations between the two countries will keep getting worse.

  In

my opinion, when a dynamic and moral balance is kept and impartiality ensured between the two countries, not by the

personal letter between the two leaders, it is possible to think of

the relations between the two countries and a dialogue for the purpose.

  We are working hard to develop and defend us

by ourselves in the tough circumstances intensely "provided" by the United

States even now.

  We desire the day when the relations between the two

countries would be as good as those relations between the two leaders, but we will have to watch the possibility along with the lapse of time.

  However, we will neither lose nor waste time in vain but continue to make changes and become strong by ourselves during the time as we have made another changes unlike two years ago.

  In conclusion, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the US President for his invariable faith in Chairman Kim Jong Un.
