Over 1.1 million trees of good species and high utility including pine have been planted in the mountains of over 530 hectares in Nampho City since it started the spring tree-planting campaign.
After producing a large number of saplings by concentrating efforts on strengthening the material and technical foundations of tree nurseries, the city carefully organized the work to finish tree planting in the right time in high quality according to its afforestation plan.
It ensures that advanced tree-planting methods are widely introduced and all works of planting process are done scientifically.
As a result, many trees have been planted in the surrounding mountains including pine-nut, chestnut, hawthorn, Evodia daniellii Hemsl, faggot and other wild fruit trees which are of high value as food and for medicinal purposes and willow, pine, Pyongyang maple and Sangwon poplar.
