The people’s power serves as a powerful weapon in the struggle to consolidate and develop the people-centered Korean-style socialist system and win victory in the cause of socialism.
In the end of the 1980s and the early 1990s, socialism was collapsed in several countries and the anti-socialist moves by the imperialist forces became desperate unprecedentedly.
In such situation, Chairman Kim Jong Il strengthened his iron will to defend and advance the cause of socialism by consolidating the socialist power.
Chairman Kim Jong Il made public immortal classic works including “The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party” to give clear explanations to the problems in consolidating and developing the world socialist movement and the socialist power.

The world progressives highly admired and praised the brilliant exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il who firmly safeguarded the people-centered Korean-style socialism by consolidating and developing the people’s power into the most cemented and viable socialist power, and their precious result.
A Spanish personage said that under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the DPRK has strengthened and developed the state power into the genuine people’s power serving the working masses and is now registering epochal achievements everyday.
A German newspaper said that the DPRK’s government bodies are not the organs of power but the representative of the people’s rights, the householder responsible for the people’s livelihood and the protector of their interests and the people-first doctrine is applied in the activities of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the state and in all fields of its social life. The newspaper also said that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sets an example in making a devoted, selfless service for the good of the people as his predecessor leaders did.
