Last May, the US made public a report on strategy against China and officially set it as its strategy to mount overall pressure on the country. It is steadily increasing the intensity of pressure against China with the strategy as the starting point.

Recently, the US Senate passed a bill on applying sanctions to the Chinese government officials, Hong Kong police and businesses related to them in connection with China’s decision to enact the Hong Kong-related national security law in the Third Meeting of the 13th National People’s Congress. The US Department of State announced that it would restrict the issuing of visas for relevant officials and personages of China, while the US Department of Defense branded some 20 Chinese businesses the ones supporting the Chinese People’s Liberation Army to impose different forms of sanctions upon them. The US made public a plan to deploy three carrier battle groups in the Pacific and withdraw some of the US forces stationed in Europe to redeploy them in the Asia-Pacific region, allegedly to contain the “threat” of China.

What is more serious is that the US is categorically denying China’s socialist system led by the Communist Party of China while terming it a dictatorial system.

A few days ago, the US State Secretary said that they could not accept the “threat” caused by the CPC, urging the Western countries to choose between “free world” and China’s “dictatorship”.

Owing to this, Sino-US relations are converting into a full-scale confrontation of who beats who beyond simple rivalry and they are developing into a face-off between systems that cannot exist together.

The US is escalating showdown with China as it regards the latter’s growth and development as a "threat" to its hegemony and "leadership in the world".

It is now scheming to politically destroy China’s social stability, economically hinder its development, militarily encircle it and diplomatically compress the space of its activity. It is intensifying pressure targeting the CPC and socialist system of China in a bid to make a “colour revolution” by dividing and disintegrating the Chinese people.

Socialism is a strategic option of the Chinese people and it is the steadfast will of its party and government to firmly defend and carry forward socialism.

Led by the CPC, the Chinese people have made world-startling changes and development. They have also achieved many successes in the campaign for preventing the spread of COVID-19. This is unthinkable apart from the leadership of the CPC.

The Korean people are confident that the Chinese people would achieve greater successes in the efforts to build socialism with Chinese characteristics by overcoming all manner of challenges and obstructive moves.
