July 27, 1953 is the day when the DPRK people won a great victory in the fierce Fatherland Liberation War.

The 3-year war took over 27 000 harsh hours, that is, 1 129 unprecedentedly arduous days for the Korean people.

The Korean people won great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, the confrontation between an infantry gun and an atomic bomb. It was a historic miracle, indeed.

The day of victory when there was a firework display has gone, but the Korean people are now still recollecting the day with pride.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.

“Indeed, Kim Il Sung was the great leader of the revolution, the benevolent father of the people and a peerlessly great man admired by everyone, whose equal has never been recorded in history.”

The Korean people’s recollection of the victory in the war is not a simple delight and pride of having achieved victory but an expression of boundless gratitude and admiration to Kim Il Sung who led to victory the Fatherland Liberation War with outstanding military ideas, strategy and tactics, faith in sure victory and warm love for the soldiers and people.

He took measures to make immediate counterattack when the imperialists started an armed invasion. He led the war to victory by applying such Juche-oriented strategy and tactics as the movement of aircraft-hunting teams, tunnel tactics, tank-hunting team movement and so on.

Every smart strategy and tactics such as a brilliant victory in the operation of liberating Seoul occupied by the enemy 3 days after the war, the Taejon liberation operation, a model of modern encirclement battle, active positional defence battle and formation of the front behind the enemy line is a precious sword of hastening the victory.

With faith in sure victory he saw that the soldiers of student origin were recalled from the front to the university and a general blueprint for the postwar rehabilitation and construction was drawn up during the war. Optimistic faith in sure victory of Kim Il Sung designing the future of the victorious country encouraged and instigated the Korean people and soldiers to victory.

During the war days Kim Il Sung called on the soldiers at front across a dangerous railway bridge, tried on a pair of soldier’s shoes with cotton for over a week on hot summer days in order to examine them before supplying them to the soldiers and taught how to grow the bean sprouts.

Worrying about firewood for the citizens in Seoul who were suffering from the war disaster, he saw that logs were floated down the river for them. He also saw that the meeting of the Political Committee of the Party Central Committee deliberated a matter of stabilizing the wartime people’s living. He also saw that salt was transported to farmers by mobilizing soldiers at the time when one soldier was urgently needed at the front. These episodes show how warm and ardent his love for his soldiers and people was.

His love was a source of gigantic strength that could not be compared with any armed equipment and an ideological and spiritual source that enabled his people and soldiers to display bravery, spirit of self-sacrifice and heroism.

The KPA soldiers smashed the enemy with burning hatred against them singing in praise of great happiness and beautiful hope; a soldier pressed the trigger of heavy machine gun with his jaw to sweep away the invaders when he got injured in the arms and legs and a soldier blocked an enemy’s gun muzzle with his chest. The people in the rear provided enough foods for the soldiers fighting on the heights even though they tightened their belts and dived into torrent waters to repair broken bridges several times a day.

Being united firmly around the leader, the DPRK soldiers and people defeated the imperialist allied forces and won a great victory in the 3-year Fatherland Liberation War.

Indeed, the victory in the war was achieved by Kim Il Sung, an iron-willed brilliant commander and peerlessly great person and by the great Korean people who were united firmly around him. It was the victory of heroic Korea.

Today the Korean people add lustre to the history of victory made by Kim Il Sung under the leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, another peerlessly great person.

The DPRK is always victorious as it is blessed with the leader through generations.
