One day when the Fatherland Liberation War was at height, a foreign correspondent came to the Supreme Headquarters. It was because he was anxious to be received by Kim Il Sung and ask him how the future of the war was. Feeling nervous and sorry that he would waste the precious time of the Korean People’s Army(KPA) Supreme Commander who shouldered destiny of the country, he entered a room. The room was so quiet that he was surprised. Kim Il Sung was looking at something on an operation table placed at one side of the large room and a young soldier with corporal badges on his shoulders was standing beside him and saying something to him.
The guide whispered silently to the correspondent who was standing with an inquiring look that the Supreme Commander was checking up his study.
He was much surprised at the sudden sight that the Supreme Commander was checking up the study of a soldier in such a grave period of deciding destiny of the country and nation.
The guide explained to him that the Supreme Commander was preparing in advance to send the people abroad to study for the future postwar rehabilitation and construction.
At the time when it is impossible for anyone to predict the outcome of the war and everything but the war was considered as the meaningless, the iron-willed brilliant commander Kim Il Sung is planning the post war rehabilitation and construction.
Then it means that he has already been convinced of the victory in the war!
He thought, and he stepped softly out of the room as if he had realized something.
Following after him, the guide asked what happened to him. The correspondent said to the guide, “It’s OK. I’ve already covered. ‘Korea Won Victory in Confrontation of Faith, Kim Il Sung Is Now Planning Postwar Rehabilitation and Construction.’ This will be the headline of my article.”
This was his exclamation not only of admiration and praise for Kim Il Sung who was planning the future of Korea but of confidence in Korea’s victory at the time when everyone was watching the front clouded with powder smoke and worrying about situations of the war.
