Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- There is Changgwang Street of a chain of restaurants in the center of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.
Tens of restaurants in the street, located at a convenient distance from means of transportation, are entertaining thousands of guests every day.
This street is associated with the efforts made by Chairman Kim Jong Il for the improvement of citizens' material and cultural life.
One day in the early 1980s when the second-stage construction of Changgwang Street was in full swing, the Chairman gave an instruction on arranging a chain of restaurants in front of Pyongyang Railway Station.
And he settled the problems arising in their operation such as the supply of raw and other materials while taking a special measure to provide building materials needed for their construction.
After the completion of the street, he sent necessary equipment and even took a step to enhance the techniques and skills of cooks.
Later, all the restaurants in the street were remodeled and their service conditions and environment were put on a modern basis in keeping with the requirements of the new century.
People of the DPRK would enjoy themselves at those restaurants, having traditional foods, health foods and world-famous dishes.
