President Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) on October 17 1926.
It was the first genuine revolutionary organization in Korea.
In his historic report Let Us Overthrow Imperialism delivered at its inaugural meeting, he put forward the programme of the DIU which was consistent with the anti-imperialist independent stand.
The DIU set it as its programme to defeat Japanese imperialism, the sworn enemy of the Korean people.
After occupying Korea, the Japanese imperialists had completely trampled down the Korean people's sovereignty and right to existence.
Under the circumstances, Kim Il Sung advanced the idea of smashing the Japanese imperialists and achieving the independence of the country independently with the efforts of the Korean people.
The DIU also set it as the goal of its struggle to overthrow all sorts of imperialism on the earth.
It was the steadfast creed of Kim Il Sung that without overthrowing the vampire imperialism living on the blood of the peoples in colonial countries, free development of any nation and happiness of the oppressed working masses are unthinkable.
