The campaign that will last by the end of this year is waged according to a decision adopted at the 19th meeting of the Political Bureau of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 5.

The campaign is an all-people offensive to wrap up this year’s work and greet the Eighth Party Congress due next year with greater successes by further raising the spirit that was lifted remarkably on the occasion of the Party’s 75th birthday. It is also a general offensive propelled by the enterprising spirit and diligence of the Korean people who are determined to bring earlier a happy future by drawing on a victory to notch up a bigger win.

The WPK Central Committee sent a letter to all the Party members appealing them to wage an 80-day campaign in order to usher in a new period of great upsurge in the revolution, a period of momentous changes. And all the people including Party members have turned out as one in the campaign in full support of the Party’s decision.

The splendidly-celebrated 75th anniversary of the WPK was a grand festival of the victorious Korean people who have advanced under the leadership of the Party as they have braved all manner of difficulties in this unprecedentedly tough year.

Notable achievements have been made in preventing the spread of the world-sweeping malignant virus and clearing away the aftereffects of severe natural disasters that hit different parts of the country in succession.

However, it is the intention of the WPK and the will of the Korean people to clinch greater victories and take today’s situation as a chance for fresh development without resting on their laurels.

If they slacken the pace of their advance at present, all the achievements made in the efforts to prevent the pandemic, develop the economy and improve the people’s standards of living will go to waste and they will miss a golden opportunity for achieving greater successes in the future.

As they are well aware of it, the Koreans are responding to the Party’s appeal with practice, while breathing the same breath as and sharing the same idea and intention with the Party.

Every sector and unit across the country have buckled down to ambitious projects.

Greater efforts are being directed to the emergency anti-pandemic work and farmers are gathering in without waste the crops they have cultivated and protected from natural disasters with so much pain all through the year.

Soldier builders and the members of divisions of Party members from the capital city are now building wonderful houses one after another for flood victims in the afflicted areas.

As they wage the campaign, metallurgical and chemical industries, scientific research institutes and all other sectors and units are throwing themselves into the achievement of the goals of the five-year strategy and seeking practical ways for self-reliance and self-development.

The 80-day campaign has just begun, but the Korean people are confident of victory.
