Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- Kumyagang Power Station No. 2 was wonderfully built as an icon of minor power stations in our country. It was commissioned with due ceremony on the spot on October 30.
The completion of the power station has brought about advancement in the afforestation and water conservation in the county and provided another firm foundation for making contribution to the economic development and improvement of people's living in the county.
Present at the ceremony were Ri Jong Nam, chairman of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Pong Yong, chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, officials and working people of Kumya County and employees of the power station.
Conveyed in the ceremony was a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea addressed to the officials and working people of the county who contributed to the construction of the power station and those who rendered help to it.
The Central Committee of the WPK in the congratulatory message stressed that President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il made the new history of the change of the Kumya River and gave valuable teachings to build cascade power stations to put the river into various uses.
The WPK Central Committee made high appreciation of the endeavors made by the officials and working people of the county and supporters who made an exemplary achievement in the implementation of the Party's policy of nature remaking by successfully building the power station and created valuable gift of significantly decorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
