The Korean people out for the autumn general mobilization movement for land management have built and upgraded roads extending for hundreds of kilometres, removed more than 2 million cubic metres of mud from river beds and created dozens of hectares of bank-protecting forests.

Working people in Pyongyang refashioned promenades along the Pothong River by placing a huge quantity of concrete for foundations, covering stones and paving roads with concrete in a qualitative way.

Jagang Province pressed on with the road expansion project for well over a thousand metres of sections and the construction and extensive repair of bridges at more than 20 places, while North Phyongan Province built model roads and paved roads leading to bridges in over 90 kilometres of sections.

Hoechang and Songchon counties of South Phyongan Province, Unsan County of North Phyongan Province and Suan County of North Hwanghae Province rearranged places of danger of landslide by planting trees, improving, repairing and managing rivers, building structures for protecting banks and preventing gully erosion and carrying out other projects for erosion control.

Minor power stations were built in Kophung County of Jagang Province, Rinsan County of North Hwanghae Province and many other counties to contribute to improving the people’s livelihood.

Haeju City and Chongdan County of South Hwanghae Province restored to their original state the dams that were destroyed by successive natural disasters and planted ground cover over them to clear away all traces of damage. Huichon in Jagang Province created large areas of forests for protecting banks.

Anak County of South Hwanghae Province repaired dozens of blocks of houses and public buildings and built a sewage treatment works and Ragwon County of South Hamgyong Province dynamically pushed the project for rebuilding flood-damaged rural houses.
