The DPRK has laws of guaranteeing human rights in the fields of education and public health. They are the Law on Education, the Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children, the Public Health Law, the Law on Medical Treatment, the Infectious Diseases Prevention Act, the Law on Food Sanitation, the Law on Public Health and so on.

The DPRK Law on Education was established in order to further develop the socialist education system and provide the people fully with right to education. It regulates the fundamental principle to be maintained in education and the system of universal free compulsory education, the educational organs and education workers, the contents and methods of education, the providing of conditions for education and the guidance and control over education. The laws on higher education and primary education were adopted on the basis of the Law on Education.

The DPRK Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children regulates the system and order to bring up children into the future of the country and the reserve of the socialist construction. It regulates… It is one of the important state policies to bring up children at the expense of the state and the society. It is the education method (Article 2, The Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children) based on the principle of the socialist pedagogy.

The Public Health Law of the DPRK regulates the main principles maintained by the Government of the Republic in the field of public health, the perfect and universal free medical care system, the protection of health by preventive medicine, the development of Juche-based medical science and technology, the material supply on public health services and the guidance and control over health organs, medical workers and public health services.

The DPRK Law on Medical Treatment was enacted to develop medical services and to protect and improve people’s health by strictly establishing the system and order in medical activities.

The Infectious Diseases Prevention Act of the DPRK serves as a legal procedure to remove infectious diseases and protect people’s life and health by establishing a strict order in exposing and segregating sources of infectious diseases, blocking their inroad channel and vaccinating them. The Law on Food Sanitation is the main law to ensure sanitary conditions of foodstuff and protect and improve the people’s health.

The DPRK Law on Public Health regulates the system and order to be maintained in public health. It contributes to providing people with sanitary living environment and condition and protecting and improving their health.
