I express deep thanks to you for having sent cordial and warm congratulations to me as regards my assumption of the post of the General Secretary of the WPK at the Eighth Congress of the WPK.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had sent a congratulatory message to our Eighth Party Congress and this time you have sent congratulations to us first before others again, which deeply moved the entire members of our Party.
The sincere best wishes of yours and your Party Central
Committee are a great strength and encouragement to us and harden my resolve and will to repay the trust and
expectations of the entire Party members and other people.
I will greatly value the comradely friendship with you and make every possible effort to consolidate and develop the DPRK-China friendship directly related with the interests of the two parties and
two peoples and vigorously advance socialism, our common cause.
I sincerely wish you good health and greater success in your responsible
