The bird flu, along with COVID-19, is spreading very fast across different countries and regions in Asia to inflict growing damage.
In particular, Japan has been compelled to massively kill chickens due to its spread in different parts of the country. More than 3.1 million chickens were disposed of until mid-December last year. Most recently, the avian influenza affecting its western region has reportedly begun to spread to its eastern region.
Over 23 000 domestic fowls were killed in a province in central Vietnam due to the spread of the H5N6 bird flu virus. Such kind of virus was also detected in the Philippines.
A resident of China’s Hunan Province was found to have contracted bird flu virus. The provincial disease prevention and control centre said that the resident was infected with it at a fowl market.
South Korea has also been plagued by the avian flu.
According to experts, when infected with the virus, the patients show such symptoms as high fever and cough like in common flu and they may die of pneumonia in serious cases.
The bird flu as well as COVID-19 rapidly spreading and dealing heavy damage to different Asian countries and regions are evoking concern of the international community.
