Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, met and had a photo session with the members of the Cabinet newly-appointed at the Fourth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly on January 18.
Kim Jong Un summoned the members of the Cabinet to shake hands with each of them and warmly congratulate them.
Saying that what is important in the efforts to carry out the new five-year plan for national economic development set forth at the 8th Party Congress is devotion and bravery of leading officials, the General Secretary called upon the Cabinet members to bring about substantial changes and successes in carrying out the revolutionary tasks assigned to their sectors by calculating all undertakings in a scientific way and doing them in a bold way to follow through on their implementation, while trusting the Party.
Once again stressing that the work of the Cabinet precisely means the work of the Party Central Committee and the implementation of the decision of the Eighth Congress of the WPK constitutes the work of the Cabinet, he indicated once again every principle and way to be maintained in the work of the Cabinet, ranging from the issue of giving priority to science and technology and prioritizing talented persons to the issue of ensuring that the overall economic work aspires to and encourages new innovations, bold creations and constant progress.
Expressing the belief that the newly-appointed members of the Cabinet will make redoubled efforts to make remarkable successes in the country's economic work, always cherishing the expectations and trust of the Party and the people as well as patriotism and loyalty and the idea that the people are God, the Supreme Leader had a meaningful photo session with them.
All the participants in the photo session raised cheers for the General Secretary who entrusted them with full responsibility for the country's economic work and placed great trust upon them again. They took a loyal oath to make a big stride forward in the economic construction and the improvement of the people's standard of living by throwing themselves into the implementation of the tasks set forth at the 8th Party Congress.
