The committee of science and technology in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang, has recently invented and introduced new technologies.
Technicians made and installed a super miniature hydropower generator which relies on domestic sewage from residential quarters in the district. The generator is designed to be used in a place where the head is extremely low and fluctuations are sharp in downstream level.
They also make a new additive with the waste from different thermal power stations as the main raw material and use it in the production of concrete blocks and Hume concrete pipes.
In addition, they developed and generalized the technology of refashioning an ordinary welder into an AC welder for current stabilization. The remodelled welder is less than half the weight of the previous AC welder and its efficiency is 22 percent higher. And it helps reduce the consumption of reactive power to save electricity by over 30 percent and its manufacturing cost is remarkably low.
In addition, they helped establish a non-plasticized cement production process at the district urban reclamation station so as to produce hard cement even in winter condition.
