Successes are being made in the field of urban management of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
True to the decision of the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Ministry of Urban Management and the relevant units of the Provincial, City and County People's Committees are actively promoting the work to solve the problems badly needed for the people's living such as the repair of dwelling houses.
Active efforts are made to build and rebuild or repair the facilities for sewage clarification and efforts concentrated on recycling rubbish in all places.
Besides, undertakings are done to provide the people with civilized living surroundings, such as the construction of tree nurseries and floriculture bases needed for afforestation as a model in all provinces.
Scientific research institutions in the field of urban management are working out research plans to decisively raise the level of park and garden design, harmoniously arrange good species of trees, flowers and ground covers and establish scientific cultivation methods for new species.
