Youth league central committee holds enlarged plenary meeting

The 13th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League took place in the way of teleconference on March 3.

It was attended by members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the youth league.

Present there as observers were youth league officials of cities and counties.

The meeting discussed the matter of devotedly carrying out the first year tasks of the five-year plan set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the issue of intensifying the struggle against anti- and non-socialist practices throughout society and others.

Pak Chol Min, chairman of the Central Committee of the youth league, made reports on the agenda items.

He analysed and reviewed the cause of shortcomings revealed by youth league committees of Pyongyang, provinces, cities and counties in drawing up this year's plans for carrying out the decisions of the Party Congress, and set forth the ways for demonstrating the dignity of the youth league as reliable reserves of the Party by further enhancing the fighting efficiency of youth league organizations and thus make a breakthrough in implementing the new five-year plan.

He stressed the need for youth league organizations to launch a stout and vigorous ideological offensive, intensive struggle for eradicating anti- and non-socialist practices and to powerfully organize and conduct the work for thoroughly establishing the socialist lifestyle.

He called for devotedly implementing the militant tasks set forth at the Eighth Party Congress and the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and greeting the 10th Congress of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League with achievements in the work of the youth league.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The meeting adopted resolutions reflecting the suggestions made on the basis of the study and discussion of the agenda items.
