The 11th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 6th Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea was held on March 4 through videoconferencing.
It was attended by members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the SWUK. Present there as observers were women’s union officials of cities and counties.
The meeting discussed the issues of fully implementing the first-year tasks of the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and intensifying the campaign against anti-socialist and non-socialist practices throughout the society, among others.
Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the SWUK Central Committee, made reports on the agenda items.
The reporter analysed in detail the deviations latent in the work of the women’s union and their causes on the basis of the main idea and spirit of the Party Congress, and referred to measures to bring about a fundamental turn in the work of the union by fulfilling the duty and role as an ideological education organization in this year’s struggle.
She stressed the need for women’s union organizations to make substantial contribution to carrying out the first-year tasks of the five-year plan by giving full play to the mental and creative power of the masses.
She underscored the need for women’s union organizations to wage an intensive ideological offensive for eradicating anti-socialist and non-socialist practices and further enhance the role of union members in the struggle for consolidating Korean-style socialism.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
Relevant resolutions were adopted at the meeting on the basis of an in-depth study of the draft resolutions.
