Over 100 million trees have been planted in a little over a month since the spring tree-planting campaign began all over the country.
North Hwanghae Province planted trees in some 6 000-hectare areas.
Suan, Singye, Yonthan and other counties applied advanced tree-planting methods to overfulfil their plans by over 10 percent, while raising the rate of rooting of planted trees with the help of various rooting accelerants and sapling growth stimulants.
Hundreds of thousands of trees are now planted every day in South Hamgyong Province.
Chestnut, pine nut, Aronia melanocarpa and other trees of wild fruit species are being planted to suit the biological features of the tree species and climate and soil conditions of each region in Sinpho City and Kowon County, and “Kumya black pine”, or Pinus thunbergii, Changsong larch and other trees of good species in a wide area in Kumya and Pukchong counties.
South Phyongan Province has so far planted over 10 million trees and North Phyongan Province, Nampho and Kaesong cities and other areas have planted trees in wide areas on the principle of planting right trees on the right places and in right time.
