The Ministry of Education and Science of Japan has specified again that the Tok Islets are its “inalienable territory” in the textbooks for high school to be used from the next year.
Among the hundreds of recently approved textbooks, those of social science subjects like history and geography all describe the islets as belonging to the “Japanese territory” and even include such absurd statements that they were illegally occupied by somebody.
Although Japan has always been persistently resorting to distortion of history in a bid to wrest the islets, an inviolable part of the Korean territory, it has never been as blatant and spiteful as today.
Its territorial claim over the islets is a ridiculous sophism devoid of any validity or legal basis.
It is an undeniable historical fact that the Tok Islets are a territorial part of the Korean nation which has been handed down from generation to generation.
Historical materials proving the fact have been discovered continuously in recent years.
Many Japanese historical records also verify the fact that Japan had not been recognizing the islets as its territory. The geography textbooks and a map published in Japan in the 19th and 20th centuries, which were recently made public, were found to mark the islets as not belonging to Japan.
The primary purpose Japan is after in forcibly instilling the distorted idea that the islets are a “stolen land” into coming generations is to fool them into robbing others of their territories so as to occupy not only the small islets but also the whole of Korea and, furthermore, realize its wild ambition for invasion of the Asian continent.
Japanese political bigwigs are still lost in the militaristic pipedream of reproducing their past rampage in Asia flying the blood-stained flag of the Rising Sun.
The archipelago nation has been steeped in lying, plundering and invading other countries throughout history.
It is absolutely intolerable that the aggressor country and war criminal nation, which inflicted immeasurable pains and sufferings on the peoples of many Asian nations and the world, tries to justify its sinful past and clings to imprudent history distortion and reactionary education to steal a part of the Korean territory again.
Japan should realize that its anachronistic move for history distortion is no more than a foolish act which might lead it to ultimate destruction.
