The Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea stressed the need to build up the bases for producing outdoor and other paints with locally available raw materials, and raise their quality.
Now in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea the period of great prosperity of construction is ushered in under the leadership of the Party. At present, it is an important task to make the finishing materials diverse and multifarious and localize them.
Design, construction and building materials are three elements of construction. What decides the destiny of the construction is the production of the building materials. Especially, the finishing materials are like the cloth, compared with man's clothes. As good garment can be made with good cloth, so a greater number of wonderful structures can be built with good finishing materials.
The DPRK is developing the paint industry depending on domestic raw materials.
The respected
Kim Jong Un
proposed researching, developing and producing acrylic paints of Korean style and took necessary measures for it. As a result, a process was established at the Songyong Paint Factory a few years ago, which can produce acrylic paints in wide use worldwide with our strength, technology and equipment.
In addition, paint producers including the Pyongyang Jonghyang Building Materials Factory and the Taedonggang Building Materials Factory have been built to provide the paints needed at home.
True to the intention of the Party to develop the local economy, the provinces are competitively producing unique finishing materials including paints with the local raw materials.
The paint production is put on a functional basis.
Researches into the functional paints have been active to develop and produce different kinds of functional paints such as pleochroic paints and anion paints.
Besides, scientific and technological achievements are widely introduced and disseminated through the national sci-tech successes exhibition in the field of finishing materials and sci-tech presentation in the field of paints, which have great economic significance and effectiveness in developing the paint industry.
Housing construction is extensively carried on in the capital city of Pyongyang according to the lofty will of
Kim Jong Un
to provide the people with more civilized living conditions. This urgently calls for producing much more paints.
Researches are active in the field of building materials to produce various kinds of better-quality paints with locally available raw materials.
