The 10th Congress of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League opened in capital Pyongyang on the 27th.

The congress will comprehensively and deeply analyze and sum up the work of the league during the period under review, take practical measures for making fundamental changes in the work of the league and discuss the tasks and ways to be carried out by the youth league organizations and young people in the struggle to thoroughly implement the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.

Present at the congress were representatives elected at the youth league organizations at all levels.

Also present there as observers were officials of the Party and armed forces organs and in the field of education of youth and children.

The rostrum was taken by Ri Il Hwan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jae Ryong, Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Kwon Yong Jin, Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, members of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, members of the executive committee of the Central Committee of the youth league, chairmen of the provincial committees of the youth league, exemplary officials and members of the youth league, officials for youth affairs in the field of armed forces and service personnel.

The congress was declared open and the national anthem of the DPRK played.

The executive and secretaries were elected.

It was introduced that the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan and the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China presented congratulatory banners to the respected

The congress approved the following agenda items.

1. Review on the work of the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

2. Review on the work of the Central Auditing Commission of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

3. On renaming the youth league.

4. On revision of the rules of the youth league.

5. Election of the central leadership organ of the youth league.

He said the 10th Congress of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League was convened amid the deep trust of the respected

who takes the youth affairs as an important work related with the prospect of the Party, the state and the Korean-style socialism, as the eternal strategic line of the revolution.

Over the past five years since the 9th Congress of the Youth League, the respected General Secretary

Noting that only victory and glory are in store for the youth league and young people under the leadership of
