A photo exhibition was held at the Chinese embassy in the DPRK on June 21 to mark the 2nd anniversary of the meeting in Pyongyang between Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.

On display there were photos dealing with the undying exploits performed by Kim Jong Un together with Xi Jinping in the development of the DPRK-China friendship, the valuable assets common to the peoples of the two countries.

Present there on invitation were Kim Song Nam, director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee, Mun Song Hyok, deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee, Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Ryu Un Hae, vice-minister of External Economic Relations, and other officials concerned.

Present there were Ambassador Li Jinjun and staff members of the Chinese embassy.

Kim Song Nam recalled that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , during his significant meeting with the respected Comrade Xi Jinping, expressed his will to successfully carry forward and glorify the friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries. He added that Kim Jong Un also reaffirmed the truth that the invincibility of the DPRK-China friendship lies in defending and developing socialism by pooling efforts.

He said the top leaders of the two parties have made sure that the DPRK-China relations of friendship and cooperation develop onto a fresh high stage through their close strategic communication despite the worsening global health crisis and serious changes in the international and regional situations.

Noting that the two parties and the two countries have further deepened the comradely cooperation in different fields such as politics, the economy and culture while strengthening their bonds of friendship and unity, he said they promote socialist construction in the two countries.

He expressed belief that the Chinese people would register good successes in the new journey for comprehensively building a modern socialist state and attaining the prosperity of the Chinese nation under the guidance of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core.

Ambassador Li Jinjun said General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to the DPRK has a great significance of carrying forward the traditions and carving out the future in the development of China-DPRK relations in the new era.

The top leaders of the two parties and the two countries comprehensively reviewed the invaluable experience gained in the development of the China-DPRK relations and came to have an important common understanding of preserving peace and stability on the Korean peninsula while jointly shaping the beautiful future of the development of the China-DPRK relations, he stressed.

Recalling that the DPRK and China have ceaselessly accelerated the development of bilateral relations under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un , he said that the Chinese side, together with the DPRK side, would continue to materialize the important common understanding reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries and make a tangible contribution to ensuring regional peace, stability, development and prosperity by putting the China-DPRK relations of friendship on a new stage.

He sincerely hoped that the Korean people would steadily achieve new eye-opening successes in socialist construction by concentrating all efforts on implementing the decisions of the 8th Congress of the WPK under the guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Un .
