V-Day celebrated in DPRK

All the Koreans across the country including working people, service personnel, youths and students significantly celebrated the 68th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

They paid homage to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at their statues in different parts of the country on July 27.

Flower baskets were laid at the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang in the name of Party, government and armed forces organs, public organizations, ministries, national agencies, units of the Korean People’s Army and the Public Security Forces, and institutions at all levels, industrial establishments, universities and schools in the capital city.

Institutions, enterprises and KPA and PSF units also placed floral baskets at the statues of the great leaders and the mosaics depicting their beaming images in different places in Pyongyang, including Kim Il Sung University, the Ministry of National Defence and the Mansudae Art Studio.

Working people, service personnel and youths including students in all other parts of the country visited such statues and mosaics in their localities to pay homage to the great leaders.

Many people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance.

The service personnel and other people, who visited revolutionary sites associated with Kim Il Sung's leadership for war victory, learned the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great man who performed military miracles in the 20th century.

Officials of local Party and government organs, working people’s organizations, industrial establishments and cooperative farms, working people, youths including students and service personnel throughout the country visited the statues and cemeteries of martyrs, monuments to the fallen KPA soldiers and graves of martyrs to pay tribute to the victors of the great years, the admirable generation who created the new history of succession of the Korean revolution by making a sacrifice of themselves.

Colourful performances were given in Pyongyang and local areas.

The Mansudae Art Troupe gave a music and dance performance at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the National Symphony Orchestra a concert at the Moranbong Theatre.

Revolutionary drama Blood at an International Conference and an acrobatic performance were staged respectively at the National Theatre and the Pyongyang Circus Theatre.

Artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe, National Theatrical Troupe, National Folk Art Troupe and the National Circus staged performances in front of the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Three-Revolution Exhibition House to add to the festive mood.

The central workers’ artistic motivational team of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, artistic motivational teams of the railway sector and the Capital City Construction Commission and mobile and women’s union artistic motivational squads of different units also put on open-air performances in different places of the capital.

University students’ art group performance “July 27 of eternal victory” was given at the Central Youth Hall.

Entertainers of provincial art troupes and members of artistic motivational teams gave celebratory performances in different parts of the country.

Working people and youths including students got together with war veterans on the same occasion.

Many working people and students visited families of war veterans to congratulate them.

Decorative illuminations were seen in Pyongyang and the provinces to enhance the jubilant mood on the holiday.

Meanwhile, young people held dance parties across the country.
